Number of deliveries down in 2022

Compared to the 2021 figures, there is a small decrease (-3.7%). In the past decade there has been a clear decrease in the number of births in Flanders. The relative decrease is greatest in East Flanders (-5.6%) and Antwerp (-4.5%). In Flemish Brabant and West Flanders there is a more limited decrease of (-2.5%) and (-2%) respectively. In Limburg there was a decrease of 1.3 percent.

West Flanders had 10,701 births. Compared to 2013, this is a decrease of six percent.
