The Official German Vinyl Charts 2022: Rammstein’s ZEIT at the top

The determination of this year’s vinyl hit lists is here! As with the album charts, Rammstein took number 1 by storm with more than 40,000 sales. An overview of all other achievements can be found here.

These are the 2022 vinyl charts

Places 1 to 10

Contrary to some estimates, Rammstein stole first place from Taylor Swift’s MIDNIGHTS (2nd place). So Swift finds itself in second place, followed by EVERYTHING FROM LOVE: 40 YEARS OF THE TOTEN HOSEN (3rd place). Like Swift, fourth-placed Harry Styles represents the pop genre in the Top 5 with HARRY’S HOUSE. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are next in line with UNLIMITED LOVE.

Casper’s ALL WAS BEAUTIFUL AND NOTHING THAT HURT (7th place) and KARGO (8th place) by Kraftklub are the only works that represent the rap genre. Productions by music legends such as ABBA’s VOYAGE (6) and Ozzy Osbourne’s PATIENT NUMBER 9 (9) are also included in the rankings. At 30, broilers close out the top 10.

Places 11 to 20

Die Ärzte, Die Toten Hosen and the Red Hot Chili Peppers each have two albums in the list, all of which can be classified as punk and rock. In the case of the Toten Hosen, this is the third-placed album ALLES AUS LIEBE: 40 YEARS DIE TOTEN HOSEN and UP TO THE BITTER END – LIVE! (13) as a 35th anniversary edition. The Chili Peppers show their presence with this year’s two works UNLIMITED LOVE (5) and RETURN OF THE DREAM CANTEEN (15). Die Ärzte are also part of the phenomenon with their reissue of 1993’s THE BEAST IN HUMAN FORM (18) and PLANET PUNK (19).
