Covid returns, Italy worried

In all Italian airports since yesterday, the mandatory swabs have been taken for passengers on flights from China and whoever tests positive will have to undergo a molecular swab and, therefore with confirmation of the positivity, he will go into fiduciary isolation until the negativity is demonstrated with another test.

Covid, New Year’s Eve safely

Having said that, a lot has changed in these 12 months, first of all the fact that Covid kills less and hospitals are no longer crowded.

The Study Center of Fimmg Romethe union of family doctors in the capital, made an analysis of the situation by leaving some useful tips for a safe New Year’s Eve.

The first point, the doctors explain, is obviously the large outbreak in China, which worries about a potential increase in risk not only of infections, but also of new variants which, however, at the moment, all of those sequenced have characteristics similar to ours. So both vaccines, diagnostic tests, and specific therapies work.

The virus, however, underlines Fimmg, it is much more widespread and contagious compared to the previous variants, so it is better to adopt a few simple, and by now known, measures that allow us to spend the holidays without having to pay it at the beginning of the year with fever and malaise.

The advices

With fever or cold or even if the state of health is not at its best, it is better to avoid the presence at convivial events. No one will be offended, indeed friends and family they will certainly appreciate the gestureespecially if they are elderly or have serious medical conditions.

If there is a plan attending events with many peoplealthough it is not necessary to go there with overalls, mask and gloves, it is still important to keep responsible behavior.

So prefer airy environments or if indoors with high ceilings. Do not share glasses, cutlery or plates with othersas much as possible to avoid chick to chick.

Tests and swabs, better done sooner than later

And finally, if you have any doubts about your health, doctors always advise, better get a quick swab before dinner, not after. The cost is not prohibitive, by now they can be found at two euros, and the safety of everyone, especially grandparents, costs much less than an artificial fire.

Covid, better to prevent

It’s been almost three years since the start of the pandemic, we know a lot about the virus, but the first is always to remember that it must be prevented, anticipated moves and not underestimated. In fact, the Fimmg doctors conclude, recent work has shown that even reinfection can become a serious problem in elderly people.
