Former cyclist Noël Dejonckheere passed away
As an amateur world champion in the points race, Dejonckheere turned professional from 1979 to 1988. Atypical for that time in Spanish employment. As a sprinter, he mainly won stages in stage races, including six in the Vuelta. After his active career he became a sports director at Motorola, at the American Cycling Federation and at BMC.
