The legendary UFC 282 night in Las Vegas offered plenty of stoppage wins.
The last two matches of the evening, the so-called main matches, made an exception. Both of them were full-time matches, and in both the judges’ scorecards drew huge crowds.
In the penultimate match, the heavily favored Liverpool player Paddy Pimblett the Yankee player was left behind Jared Gordon against. Gordon delivered hard bombs throughout the match, and Pimblett was unable to respond properly to the challenge.
The fighting crowd was startled when the verdict was announced: Pimblett won by unanimous decision. Each judge scored the bout 29-28 for the British.
The MMA Decisions page collects scores from North American journalists and experts who are active in the sport. Out of 24 different people, only one scored the match for Pimblett. 12 people scored the match 29–28 for Gordon and the rest 30–27.
– I clearly won. I knew I won, Pimblett assured Joe Rogan’s in the interview.
“Give him the belt”

The evening culminated in the light heavyweight match, where the vacant championship belt was at stake.
Polish Jan Blachowicz won the second and third sets. Russian Magomed Ankalaev on the other hand, was clearly more dominant in the fourth and fifth sets.
In other words, the biggest difference was made in a fairly even first set. What was the result? Draw. One judge scored 48-47 for Blachowicz, one 48-46 for Ankalajev, and one recorded a 47-47 score.
Among other things, UFC legend Daniel Cormier was surprised in the commentary how no judge saw Ankaleev take the first round.
The absurd situation culminated in the interview. Rogan was spinning in the cage confused as he searched for the fighters to come to the microphone.
– I know that I didn’t win, but I have to watch the match again. I’m not a judge, I don’t know. At least I didn’t win, Blachowicz was amazed and collected points for his fairness.
Then Rogan moved on to Ankalayev.
– I won the match! Where’s my belt? I don’t even know if I want to fight in the UFC after this, Ankalayev would speak in Russian.
– Give him the belt, said Blachowicz after and pointed to Ankalajev.
The jury’s score determines, and of course Blachowicz’s fairness did not change the result.
At the end of the evening, a free match reporter Ariel Helwani reports that the vacant championship belt will be up for grabs already in January. According to Helwan, they talk about it in the 283 evening Glover Teixeira and Jamal Hill.
