A few days ago, The Weeknd posted an audio snippet on his Instagram account with a blue logo that suggested the superstar may have contributed a song to the soundtrack of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way Of Water. That’s exactly what Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd’s real name, has now confirmed.
On Twitter, he shared a snippet of a song said to be called “Nothing is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” along with a scene from the upcoming blockbuster:

According to a press release, the song was written by The Weeknd and produced by Swedish House Mafia and Simon Franglen.
“Avatar: The Way Of Water” is scheduled to start in German cinemas on December 14, 2022. Its predecessor “Avatar: Aufbruch nach Pandora” was released in cinemas in 2009 and is the world’s most successful film of all time in terms of box office earnings. Further parts are already in planning and production.
The Weeknd released their latest album DAWN FM earlier this year. In July and August 2023 he wants to give four concerts in Germany.
