Sporting goods giant Nike and controversial NBA pro Kyrie Irving are no longer working together. Nike has ended the contract with the Brooklyn Nets basketball player, which has been dormant for weeks, as reported by several other US media in addition to “The Athletic” on Monday. Irving was recently heavily criticized for sharing a link to a film with anti-Semitic content and for a long time not clearly distancing himself from anti-Semitism. Nike, which is reported to have paid around eleven million US dollars a year to Irving, had already put the sponsorship contract on hold at the beginning of November. (dpa)
