Police check on trucks with dangerous goods transport in Lendelede

The traffic police of the VLAS and RIHO police zones worked together with specialists from the Flemish tax authorities. They have mainly put aside package transports and tankers.

Infringements were found in 58% of the trucks. The drivers had to pay a collection themselves at the time. This concerns violations, such as driving without a driver card, or transporting drums with hazardous substances of which remnants are still present on the outside of the packaging. A truck went onto the track with a tire that had whole pieces out. Yet another vehicle was not authorized to carry out transport.

“Such actions are definitely a must and will be planned in the future,” says a press release from the Vlas Police Zone.
