Man killed in fire in Snellegem

This morning around 7.30 am, passersby see smoke coming from a house along the Gistelsteenweg in Snellegem, near Jabbeke. The fire brigade arrives on scene and finds the lifeless body of an 83-year-old man in the kitchen.

According to mayor Frank Casteleyn, a seat would have caught fire because it was too close to the fireplace.
