Paderborn only manages to equalize for a short time
St. Pauli already took the lead in the fifth minute: Etienne Amenyido wanted to take the shot himself and then decided to pass it on to Max Dittgen, who shot the ball under the bar from a six-yard turn.
Paderborn recovered after a few minutes and the team equalized in the 37th minute. Florent Musljia passed Dennis Srbeny, but Srbeny didn’t give goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj a chance from eight meters out. But St. Pauli regained the lead: Guido Burgstaller freed Dittgen, whose cross pass reached Amenyido, who converted from ten meters (44th).
Stiepermann with the late compensation
The game was open in the second half. Paderborn had several chances but failed. St. Paulis Becker missed the great chance to make it 3-1 (64th). Paderborn’s Pröger hit the right crossbar a little later from 14 meters (66′).
Marco Stiepermann then scored the deserved equalizer for Paderborn. Half right in the penalty area arranged the ball and hit the left corner with a flick (84′).
