Young cyclist (13) seriously injured in an accident in Ardooie

The accident happened at the intersection of Oostlaan (N37) with Meulebeeksestraat.

“The girl was hit by a truck,” said the spokesperson for the Tielt Police Zone.

“That happened near the bicycle crossing. The girl was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Her condition is not life-threatening.”

The road is closed locally. Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
