Ice hockey: Eisbären Berlin loses again

The Eisbären Berlin are stuck in the bottom of the table in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) because of the next defeat.

Two days after the important win against Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven, the champions lost 3:6 (2:4, 1:0, 0:2) to the Straubing Tigers.

Bremerhaven made up ground on leaders Red Bull Munich and remains in the chasing group with a 5-1 (2-1, 2-0, 1-0) win over the Grizzlies Wolfsburg. The former champion Adler Mannheim won against the Augsburg Panthers 1-0 (0-0, 0-0, 0-0, 1-0) after extra time and also remains in close contact with the Munich team.

Promoted Löwen Frankfurt lost to ERC Ingolstadt 2:3 (2:1, 0:1, 0:0, 0:1) after extra time, but is right on target in fifth place. Wojciech Stachowiak (65th) scored to win the ERC and prevented a penalty shootout.

Travis St. Denis was the Straubinger match winner with three goals. Borna Rendulic (61st) scored the winning goal for Mannheim just 17 seconds after the start of overtime.
