In his hometown of Odoorn, the poet Seenus Omvlee passed away. Omvlee was Emmen’s first municipal poet in 2006.
He was best known for his poems with a light playful tone and was part of the Light Verse Collective. With that collective he wrote, among other things: Death and the platoon. A collection of 44 poems about cyclists who met their end in a strange way.
Omvlee had been ill for some time. He turned 74 years old.
