AFC extends undefeated series and Koninklijke HFC down against Katwijk.

VV Noordwijk – AFC 1-3

In the opening phase, AFC got the better chances and that was eventually rewarded. Splinter de Mooij took the lead against VV Noordwijk. He made the 1-0 on a pass from Melvin Platje. A few minutes later, De Mooij was also the goalscorer in the 2-0. The Amsterdammers were extremely effective with this. As a result, there seemed to be no blemish in the air in Noordwijk.

Immediately after the break, that feeling was confirmed by a quick goal from Melvin Platje. He scored on an assist from his striker buddy Raily Ignacio: 3-0, who failed to score. After sixty minutes, Noordwijk almost hit the crossbar out of nowhere. That turned out to be a harbinger, because not much later Sander Bosma made it 3-1. That goal turned out to be for the statistics, leaving AFC unbeaten for the fifth game in a row. The lead also remains in the possession of the team from Amsterdam.

The next match of AFC is November 12 at home against Scheveningen.

Royal HFC – Katwijk 1-3

Royal HFC has not won for the fifth game in a row. The first danger came from Jacob Noordmans’ foot. He shot hard at the post from a falling ball. Katwijk, however, took the lead a few minutes later. Ahmed El Azzouti headed the ball against the ropes from a cross by Joey Ravensbergen: 0-1. Before the break, the team from Haarlem already put things in order after a goal by Noordmans: 1-1. Then HFC got another chance through Zakaria Eddahchouri. His header went wide through goalkeeper Jean-Paul van Leeuwen.

Eddahchouri also became dangerous twice in the second half. First he headed a cross from Danny Hols onto the post and moments later Van Leeuwen was again a bummer. The team got the lid on its nose. Kay Blokland headed the ball through the ground over HFC goalkeeper Thomas Hoekstra: 2-1. Tim Freriks (former OFC) made the grapes even more sour by scoring Katwijk’s third goal. Oscar Wilffert was allowed to fill in and played his 150^e game for HFC, but still saw his team lose.

Due to the defeat, HFC drops to eleventh place in the ranking with fifteen points, the same as FC Lisse. The team of Gertjan Tamerus will visit Excelsior Maassluis next week.

Young FC Volendam – The Matches 1-3

Jong FC Volendam lost against title candidate De Treffers. It was the team from Groesbeek, who opened the score after half an hour. Willem den Dekker shot the ball into the goal behind Kayne van Oevelen, who had kept his team going: 0-1. Not much later, Den Dekker was also the finisher at the 2-0. After a combination with Oussama Bouyaghlafen, the maker of the first goal pushed the ball under Van Oevelen.

It was substitute Ezechiel Fiemawhle, who took care of the connecting goal. He finished off a cross from Quincy Hoeve in a controlled manner: 1-2. Joey Antonioli even seemed to score the equalizer a minute later, but it was flagged for offside. Den Dekker could even have completed his hat-trick, his header went wide for an empty goal. Raymond Gyasi made the decision in injury time: 1-3.

Due to the loss, Jong Volendam remains in sixteenth place in the second division. IJsselmeervogels will be the opponent in Spakenburg next week.

Scheveningen – OFC 1-1

It took a long time before anything significant happened. A goal by Michael de Niet seemed to be the decision, but OFC did not give up. Niels Butter scored from a free kick to give his team a point. As a result, the Oostzaners also lost a point to competitor TEC, which lost 4-0 against Lisse. Despite this, OFC remains last in the second division.
