Darmstadt 98 defended their lead in the Bundesliga 2 with a narrow 1-0 home win against Hannover 96. The Lower Saxony played a good hour with ten men in a fast-paced top game after new signing Phil Neumann saw the red card for a handball in the penalty area.

Second division side Hansa Rostock can no longer win at home.
