Kick-off 2nd half

Mid-term conclusion:
With a 1: 1 from BVB point of view, it goes into the cabins in Copenhagen. The Danes acted energetically from the start and with a lot of offensive joy. This gave them a few opportunities, but they didn’t take advantage of them. On the other side, Dortmund did a lot better. With the first good opportunity, Hazard put the black and yellow in front (23rd). After that it seemed as if Borussia had more control with the lead behind them. But as the season progressed, they became more passive. Copenhagen noticed that, attacked further and further and rewarded themselves for the good performance with an equaliser. In the final minutes before the break, they even pushed for the second goal, which was by no means undeserved.

45

21:49

Anthony Modest

Yellow card for Anthony Modeste (Borussia Dortmund)

Anthony Modeste comes too late with his tackle against Kevin Diks in his own half and is rightly cautioned.

45

21:49

Two minutes are added in the first round and Copenhagen is pushing for the second goal. Victor Claesson shoots the ball directly into Kobel’s arms from the half-left edge of the penalty area.

45

21:47

Official injury time (minutes): 2

43

21:47

The equalization is absolutely deserved after the course of the game and was announced a little in the minutes before the goal. Borussia are simply acting too passively.

41

21:41

Hakon Haraldsson

Tooor for FC København, 1-1 through Hákon Haraldsson

Copenhagen rewards itself for a strong performance with the first goal of the current Champions League season! The Danes win the ball on the left in midfield. They then switch quickly and Claesson is sent down the line on the left. The FCK captain moves inwards, puts back from the left next to the five and finds Haraldsson. The Icelander then doesn’t take the chance anymore and executes it in the lower right corner. As an exception, even Kobel is completely powerless.

39

21:41

Schlotterbeck recklessly loses the ball on the left defensive side. Afterwards, the home side don’t play it out exactly enough. Therefore, the error goes unpunished.

36

21:40

Anthony Modeste repeatedly falls into his own half to at least collect a few ball contacts. The guests haven’t even gotten the striker involved yet.

34

21:39

Salih Özcan keeps falling between the two central defenders during the build-up. The ball runs properly there. However, Dortmund hardly gain space.

31

21:35

The game is currently interrupted because of a fan protesting on the field.

29

21:34

Kobel already with the second brilliant act! Again, the hosts go left and Daramy forward. The ball almost lands at Claesson in the pentagon, who keeps track of a little confusion and finishes from close range. Kobel makes himself big and fends off the ball with his upper body.

27

21:31

The 1:0 for BVB doesn’t really correspond to the course of the game. Copenhagen are the more dangerous team here and are still chasing the deficit.

25

21:29

For Thorgan Hazard, the opening goal is not only the first goal in the premier class, but generally his first booth of the current season.

23

21:23

Thorgan Hazard

Tooor for Borussia Dortmund, 0:1 by Thorgan Hazard

BVB goes in front with their first own shot on goal! Passlack is served on the right wing. The full-back gets through Sørensen well, dribbles to the baseline and then brings the ball in high. The aim of the cross is actually Modeste. In front of the Frenchman, Vavro is still slightly in between with his head. As a result, the ball lands half-left in the box at the completely free hazard. The 29-year-old takes the ball and finishes with a challenging volley. The shot is slightly deflected. As a result, Grabara does not get to the leather. Vavro can no longer defuse the situation on the line and the ball hits right in the middle.

20

21:23

Jacob Neestrup trusts a really young group today. This is particularly evident in the offensive row of three. Mohamed Daramy, who enjoys playing very much, is the oldest there at 20 years old. Hákon Haraldsson is 19 years old and Roony Bardagji is only 16.

17

21:20

There is the first good BVB opportunity! Reyna drives in midfield and seems to lose the ball. However, Modeste follows suit and hands it over directly to the American. The 19-year-old puts Malen on the half-right side of the sixteen line and he actually seems to get through freely. However, the ball bounces on the first contact. In the end, the angle from the back is too bad and the attacker chases the ball well over the short corner.

14

21:17

There is still nothing to be seen from Dortmund on the offensive. The black and yellow have much more possession of the ball, but at the latest in the opposing half they don’t know much about what to do with it.

12.

21:15

Copenhagen desperately wants the first Champions League goal of the season! This time Hákon Haraldsson gets a shot from inside the box. However, the attempt by the young Icelander is not placed enough and does not pose any problems for Gregor Kobel.

11.

21:14

An FCK corner from the left sails high in front of the goal. Vavro comes up with a header, but nods the ball right into Kobel’s arms.

9.

21:13

Kobel prevents the early residue! The Danes win the ball deep in their own half. After a few stations, they quickly combine to the front. Daramy pulls past Hummels on the left wing and brings the ball in high from the baseline. Bardagji heads the ball from a central position and aims for the right corner. Kobel reacts at lightning speed and defends with a strong parade to the side.

6.

21:10

On the field, too, the Copenhageners showed from the start that they didn’t want to end the group stage without a win or a goal. The Danes are situationally up front, act venomously in duels and lie in wait for switching situations.

3.

21:05

The first corner goes to the guests. Hazard circles the ball inwards from the left flag. Grabara breaks away from the line and safely intercepts the cross.

2.

21:04

For the referee, Äliyar Ağayev, it is the first appearance in the Champions League. The Azerbaijani will be supported on the sidelines by Zeynal Zeynalov and Akif Ämirälı.

1.

21:02

Here we go! Copenhagen toast and play all in white. Everyone who thought that today was about nothing was taught better before kick-off. The FCK supporters accompanied both teams on their way to the stadium with an impressive choreo. The atmosphere is absolutely appropriate for the premier class!

20:52

The direct comparison speaks clearly for Dortmund. BVB won all three matches. In the first leg they won 3-0 with goals from Reus, Guerreiro and Bellingham. Nevertheless, Copenhagen should not be underestimated. After all, the lions collected their two points in their home games against Sevilla and Man City.

20:44

The four changes made by Edin Terzić after the 2-1 win against Eintracht are a premiere at BVB. Felix Passlack is in the starting eleven for the first time this season and replaces Niklas Süle at right-back. In addition, frequent player Jude Bellingham gets a well-deserved break. After all, apart from the cup duel in Hanover, the Englishman played the full distance in every game. Emre Can starts for him in central midfield. On the offensive, Gio Reyna and Anthony Modeste are new for Julian Brandt and Youssoufa Moukoko.

20:35

Jacob Neestrup has made three changes since beating Randers FC 2-0. Kevin Diks, Christian Sørensen and William Clem start for Elias Jelert, Victor Kristiansen and Marko Stamenić, all three of whom take a seat on the bench.

20:24

Dortmund are in really good shape at the moment. The black and yellow went unbeaten in four competitive games in a row and were even able to win three of them. Most recently, they clinched an impressive 0-0 draw against Manchester City and a hugely important 2-1 win in Frankfurt. Of course, Borussia now want to continue the current series and at the same time save energy for the end-of-year spurt in the Bundesliga.

20:17

Copenhagen is lagging behind in the domestic league and only occupies sixth place. In the Champions League it was already clear in advance that the chances against the well-known group opponents were not particularly good. Nevertheless, the reigning Danish champions had certainly hoped for more. After five games they have two points and a goal difference of 0:11. This makes FCK the only team that is still completely without a goal of its own. Of course, that should change today in order to be able to at least celebrate a conciliatory CL farewell.

20:09

Even before the kick-off, all ranks in Group G are clearly distributed. The difference between the individual places is only three points, but due to the direct comparisons, the final positions are already certain. Manchester City and BVB advance to the round of 16. Sevilla is in the Europa League. Copenhagen is at the bottom and for the Danes the season on the international stage ends tonight.

19:57

Have a wonderful good evening and welcome to the Champions League on Wednesday. FC Copenhagen has Borussia Dortmund as a guest. The Group G game kicks off at 9pm at Telia Parken.
