In a few weeks, “Avatar 2 – The Way Of Water” will be the most awaited sequel to a blockbuster since “Star Wars”.
After a first teaser, there is now a first long trailer to see. He has only one task: to convey the feeling that after a 13-year break, challenging filming and the further development of a new animation technique, at least a technically perfect masterpiece will be shown on the screen again.
The sequel to the highest-grossing film of all time opens on December 14th. Director James Cameron recently fueled the anticipation by saying that the film would make viewers s*** with their mouths open. Well, John Oliver disagrees.
Over a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar 2: The Way of Water continues the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children). Featuring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet. The film should definitely have a running time of over 180 minutes. However, the exact length is not yet known.
So far, two more parts have been shot, “Avatar 3” is still in the complex post-production. Cameron would like to hire another director for episodes five and six.
