Man rescued from burning house, taken to hospital in critical condition

The fire brigade rescued a man from a house on Dirck Boutsstraat in Helmond where a fierce fire broke out on Sunday evening. The fire is believed to have started in the extension of the house and then spread to other parts of the house.

The fire was discovered by neighbors around a quarter to eleven in the evening.

Front door forced
“The fire service had to force the front door to gain access to the house,” a 112 correspondent said. The victim, who the fire service discovered in the house, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Due to the seriousness of the situation, a trauma helicopter came to Dirck Boutsstraat, among other things.

Prevent skip fire
The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The neighbors’ houses suffered smoke and water damage, but the fire service was able to prevent the fire from spreading to these houses.
