However, pound coins bearing the Queen’s image are still accepted as means of payment.

The British Royal Mint has started printing new coins. In the future, the coins will find a king of Charles III image instead of that of her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The huge deal is now a British tabloid Mirror started with 50 pence coins, of which up to 9.6 million coins are to be printed.
The personal side of the new coins shows the silhouette of King Charles, which follows the portrait of the king taken on his 70th birthday. On the other side of the coin are the emblems of the British homeland: rose, thistle, clover and leek.

Among the coins being printed now, there will also be special coins with a tribute to Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth, printed on one side.
– The memorial dedicated to Queen Elizabeth found on the new 50 pence leaves a mark in history and honors Britain’s 70-year-old landmark, opens the director of the Royal Mint Museum Kevin Clancy for the British media.
Clancy reminds us that the project is the biggest physical change related to the British pound since the decimalization of the pound in 1971, and therefore important to many ordinary citizens as well. For a large number of Britons, this is the first time they get to closely watch the exchange of money in Britain.
However, the former coins with the Queen’s portrait are still legal tender for the time being. The old coins will be replaced with new ones gradually, first after they have been used and after they have been damaged in use.
