Ajax has started the last training session with Kenneth Taylor and Devyne Rensch before Wednesday’s home game against Liverpool in the Champions League. Both players missed their club’s last matches due to injuries.
Edson Álvarez is also back on the training field. The midfielder was substituted with RKC Waalwijk in the half-time of the game on Saturday because he was ill. Ajax’s training is only open to the media for fifteen minutes. Trainer Alfred Schreuder will explain his plans for the match with Liverpool at 2 p.m. during a press conference.
Ajax still has a small chance of qualifying for the eighth finals of the Champions League. The number 3 of the group must first win against Liverpool by at least two goals difference. In the last round of the group stage, Ajax must therefore beat Rangers FC and Liverpool may not get a point against Napoli.
Ajax has a lead of 3 points on the still scoreless Rangers FC. The number 3 of the group will play an extra qualifying round in the Europa League after the winter break.
