Two supposed top bosses of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service Obscene photos were taken in front of the entrance to the town of Fennel, in the party of Olavarría, and unleashed the indignation of the inhabitants of that Buenos Aires city. It would be the deputy director of Unit 2 of Sierra Chica and an agent of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service (SPB).
The images quickly went viral, being commented on by several cadets in their states of WhatsApp and in tik tok, and, in an unusual way, young people were punished for disseminating them. Immediately, the relatives of the students repudiated the measure and claimed that the heads of the service who photographed themselves semi-nude were not punished in the same way. “There is no equality here,” said the families of the cadets.
Other unusual facts of SPB personnel
But this is not the first act of misconduct involving someone from the SPB. In September, Mauro Mayorga, head of the Vocational Training Department of the service, was recorded while taking an expensive bottle of whiskey from a supermarket in the city of La Plata without paying. It was the owners of the business who spread the images where Mayorga can be seen, approach a shelf and grab the bottle. As reported by the SPB at the time, the person involved was separated from his duties and an administrative investigation was initiated.
But erratic behavior within the prison service can also be traced much earlier. For example in 2020, when the Chief of Armament, Cristian Alejo Ribnikovtook a series of photographs of his children while they were carrying long weapons and were part of the inventory of that department.
Ribnikov then uploaded the photos to his Facebook profile, which did not even have privacy filters. “Visit to the work of the little Ribnikovs,” the post read. According to sources close to him, the person involved was a lover of weapons. In fact, he was nicknamed “Rambo”. He also learned that when he was the custodian, Ribnikov was “armed to the teeth.”
