A man died when his car collided head-on with a semitrailer near Herzberg (Mark, Ostprignitz-Ruppin district).
The 31-year-old was driving on Friday on the B 167 federal road from Grieben in the direction of Herzberg when his car ran into oncoming traffic for reasons that were previously unclear, the police said on Sunday.
His vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming truck. The 31-year-old died at the scene of the accident, his 29-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The 68-year-old driver of the semitrailer was slightly injured.
