VRT MAX launches humorous fiction series ‘Roomies’ with homegrown music | TV

TVA quest by two twenty-somethings for their identity and how to grow up. That is the approach of ‘Roomies’, a new fiction series from VRT MAX. The series, a project by Flo Van Deuren and Kato De Boeck, can also count on an exclusive soundtrack with songs from our own soil.

‘Roomies’ tells the story of two lesbian friends Bibi and Ama. Hoping to become a better version of themselves, they pull together. Despite their different lifestyles and characters, the housemates think they are ready for it. But soon the two friends come to new insights. Bibi and Ama have started this new adventure with a completely different agenda. While Bibi dreams of a romantic relationship with a woman, Ama wants nothing to do with love for a while.

Exclusive number

In the new fiction series of VRT MAX you can also hear a lot of local music. For the end credits, in collaboration with Mounir Hathout (Sonhouse), eight female or non-binary artists from Belgium were asked to write an exclusive song for each end credit. Only for episode three an existing song by Martha Da’Ro was used. She plays Telma in the series.

In addition to Martha Da’Ro, emerging talent also makes an appearance in the fiction series. Just think of Ahlaam Teghadouini and Laura De Geest, for example. In addition, Romy Louise Lauwers, Khadija El Kharraz Alami and Dominique Van Malder also have a role in ‘Roomies’.

‘Roomies’: from now on on VRT MAX. From Monday 17 October on One.
