For years, Henny Huisman was the face of the great studio entertainment on RTL 4 with programs such as the Soundmixshow and the Mini-playbackshow, but those days are long behind us. After losing those big television jobs, the presenter had to take a big step back in terms of income.

‘Not so much anymore’

Today, at the age of 71, Henny earns very little money. At least that’s what he says himself in conversation with NPO Radio 1. “I don’t earn that much per year anymore. It used to be. There are a lot of people who absolutely do not want to say what they earn. I really tell everything. Ask me anything and I’ll tell you.”

What is ‘not so crazy anymore’ then? “That will be around 80 thousand or so.”

His interviewer Suse van Kleef was shocked: “O. I sit with my mouth open to see that this is ‘not so much’.”

2.5 million euros

Henny points out that 80 thousand euros is ‘not that much’ for his actions. “Yes, I have also had 2.5 million years or so. Then it is a little less.”

Suse surprised: “Oh yes, exactly.”

Furniture care

What does Henny earn his money with these days? Commercials such as those for Furniture Care. “There was someone last week who said: ‘Ah, there’s that man from that chair.’ Then you are instantly known from a chair. Yes, that happens. It works that way.”

He admits he could earn a lot more, but he refuses many TV proposals. “Jump In, Plof Maar Out and those kinds of programs… But also a Wie is de Mol… I don’t understand the whole program, so I’m not going to sit in it either, you see? I’ve been asked for it. I say no to nine out of ten things.”
