Pedri gave an exhibition of talent and Ter Stegen saved the team in the second half
Barça lacked forcefulness in the first 45 minutes and control after the break
Barça has finished the match against Celta asking for the time and with Ter Stegen dislocated with his teammates. Pedri was the author of the only goal and also the most outstanding footballer of the match. The midfielder has given a recital in midfield with technical gestures of genius.
Gavi has been another of the protagonists of the Barça team, who has lacked forcefulness in the first part and control in the second. Ter Stegen has been providential in the last few minutes saving the team twice. The azulgrana team has left the Camp Nou with the three points but a very bad body.
These are the notes of the Barça players in the first part:
8
Ter Stegen, goalkeeper
Providential
Celta demanded two games from him. In the first half he was precise with his feet and attentive in off-goal situations. In the second, the Galicians went on the attack and lived closer to the goal. Some discomfort in the back left him touched and an error in the pass was about to complicate his life. But when things were worst, he put in a miraculous foot and a great hand.
5
Alejandro Balde, defender
Uncomfortable
Again as a right back, he was uncomfortable in situations with a changed leg. Being left-handed complicated the centers and the game outside. In defense he solved some fire with his speed but he had some problem with the markings.
6
Gerard Pique, defender
Conservative
He was the most positional centre-back, the last man for Barça. The Catalan tried to order the defense and was providential in some situation on the wire. Aware that he still lacks rhythm, he lived close to Ter Stegen.
5
Marcos Alonso, defender
Solid
One of Xavi’s tactical innovations, who opted for him as a central defender alongside Piqué. The former Chelsea player was focused, with the tranquility that characterizes him, although he suffered in some defensive situations.
5
Jordi Alba, defender
Decreasing
Xavi is giving him minutes to pick up the pace. In a lineup with three left-backs, he was very active until he got tired. In the second part he lost prominence in a Barça that lowered the level.
5
Sergio Busquets, midfielder
Shy
In his usual role as facilitator, he was the best assist of the first half. He did not take advantage of Ferran Torres who tried to screw the ball but ran into Celta’s goalkeeper. In the second half, in a Barça that lost vision and possession, he was unable to overcome the new scenario.
8
Pedro, midfielder
Magical
Protagonist as interior right, always offered solutions. It is nothing new: Pedri is the most far-sighted footballer on the team and the one who best controls the times. He also opened the scoring taking advantage of a poor clearance by Unai. He left the best technical gestures of the game, he was substituted in the second half and the team lost order and lucidity.
7
Gavi, midfielder
Omnipresent
This time as inside left he was one of the most dynamic players in midfield. He also brought the usual intensity in the pressure: his recoveries always complicate rivals and he is a specialist in winning individual duels. He once again read the spaces behind the defenders very well.
5
Raphinha, forward
Irregular
The Brazilian played where he likes (on the right wing) but was a little out of tune with the ball. Despite not being very neat on the ball he showed that he is always a shooting threat. Marchesín prevented him from scoring and was the subject of a possible penalty from Galán. With the minutes, he became disorganized and was replaced.
5
Fernando Torres, forward
Improved
An improved version of Ferran in the first part. He entered the game well, ambitious in one on one and reading the spaces well. He lacked forcefulness in the final meters to confirm his improvement. In the second part he was losing and did not finish the match.
5
Robert Lewandowski, forward
Unnoticed
A minor version of Lewandowski. The Pole lacked a point of spark and aggressiveness. Somewhat more isolated than usual, he didn’t find his rhythm.
5
Ansu Fati, forward
participatory
He entered the second part wanting to be the protagonist. He was daring in heads-up but without the explosiveness of his best days.
5
Dembele, striker
Vague
He jumped onto the field at a time of Celta’s siege and lacked precision in Barça’s counterattacks. His contribution was a shot without consequences.
5
Frenkie de Jong, midfielder
intemperate
He entered to give the team more control, but failed to feel like a protagonist.
5
Sergio Roberto, defender
Testimonial
He played the last minutes and limited himself to defending his back in minutes of Celta’s overwhelm.
6
Eric Garcia, defender
stuck
He entered at a time when Barça was closed in Ter Stegen’s area and had time to get a key ball that went on goal.
