A 29-year-old motorist from Oudheusden was arrested on Saturday evening after a mad ride through Den Bosch and Vught. He drove into several parked cars on the Sint Janssingel in Den Bosch. A witness who saw the man racing alerted police.
Officers encountered the man at the Rompertpassage in Den Bosch. He was not driving the car at that time, but on the basis of the video that the witness of the motorist had made, he nevertheless received a police report. He also had to surrender his driver’s license. An alcohol and saliva test were negative at that time.
Don’t chase any more
Despite the recovered driver’s license, officers saw the man driving again shortly afterwards. His driving was so dangerous that the officers decided not to pursue him further for safety reasons.
Shortly afterwards, the police received a report of an accident in the Boslaan in Vught. When the officers arrived, they saw the suspect’s car. He had hit three trees with his car. There was no trace of the suspect. The car was seized and towed for investigation.
Threat and resistance
After a search of the area, officers were able to arrest the man. In the police station, the motorist threatened the officers and resisted vigorously.
Despite an order from the assistant public prosecutor, the man refused to cooperate with a blood sample for examination.
