★★★★★ The story of a bankrupt theatrical producer and a bored accountant who have a brilliant plan to make money: sell 1000% shares of a play that is going to be a deliberate failure. The work is called “Spring for Hitler” and even if you take into account that the director of this genius is a first-rate anti-Nazi (and proud Jew), today we believe that many would not understand the irony, just like that idiot audience at first who sees the work once assembled. Beyond this consideration if you want extemporaneous, what Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel do is monumental and the best of their careers. The film is kind, funny, musical, intelligent and funny: everything that we have been asking the cinema for years and, each time, it offers us less.
