AZ is proudly in the lead in the Eredivisie and the Alkmaarders also occupy number one in Group E of the Conference League. At the press conference, trainer Pascal Jansen and player Pantelis Hatzidiakos received many questions about the current success. “We have very good players.”

Modesty

Hatzidiakos has been playing football for AZ for many years and has had good and less good years. The Greek defender knows all too well that success can turn into a lesser period. A day before the match against the champion of Cyprus, he therefore does not want to look too far ahead. “These are nice statistics, but we don’t have anything yet.”

Jansen also explains the excellent form of his team. The Alkmaar trainer is already entering his third year as the person with final responsibility and clearly indicates on Wednesday afternoon what the difference is with last season. “We were a team under construction at the time.”

fitness

The infirmary is slowly emptying at AZ. For example, Jens Odgaard and Mees de Wit will return to the selection. The two were ill last weekend against FC Groningen. Dani de Wit’s hamstring injury also seems to be not too bad. The midfielder dropped out on Saturday, but is now back on the training field. It remains to be seen whether he will be there on Thursday evening. Furthermore, Bruno Martins Indi, Vangelis Pavlidis and Hakon Evjen against Apollon Limassol are missing.

The match AZ – Apollon Limassol starts on Thursday evening at 9 p.m. and afterwards reactions will appear on this site and social channels of NH Sport.
