Ukraine plans to bid for the 2030 FIFA World Cup together with Spain and Portugal. Among other things, a British newspaper reports on Ukraine’s competition application the Guardian.
Official confirmation of the application is expected tomorrow, Wednesday. The project is said to have the president of the country to Volodymyr Zelensky support. The country organized the 2012 European Championships together with Poland.
Spain and Portugal submitted a joint competition application to Fifa two years ago. Ukraine hopes that in eight years the war against Russia would be over, and the country would be able to organize the Games.
The joint applications of Egypt, Greece and Saudi Arabia as well as Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile are also fighting for the 2030 hosting.
