Three games, one conditional. That is the proposal of the disciplinary committee of the KNVB as a punishment for the red card that Bilal Ould-Chikh received on Sunday in FC Volendam’s away match against Fortuna Sittard. The club does not agree with this, so the case will be dealt with in Zeist on Thursday.
The FC Volendam attacker kicked Fortuna player George Cox on the knee in the first half. Referee Dennis Higler initially let it go, but pulled the red card after the intervention of the video referee. Volendam was 1-0 behind at that time and eventually lost 2-0.
If Ould-Chikh has to miss two matches, he will not only miss the sold-out home game against Ajax next Saturday, but also next Friday’s away game against FC Emmen.
