Former world champion Peter Wright made it to the round of 16 at the Darts World Cup in London’s Alexandra Palace. After initial difficulties, the Scot prevailed 4-2 against the Australian Damon Heta.
For “Snakebite” Wright, who failed in the third round last year against the German Gabriel Clemens, it is now up to Ryan Searle from England in the round of 16.
Underdog Heta had clearly shown his skills in the first three sets, with a little luck he could even have taken the lead 3-0.
With increasing playing time, however, his scores dropped considerably, and the 34-year-old finally had nothing more to oppose to a suddenly splendid Wright.
