The suspects object.

Three Dutch people aged 20, 29 and 48 were arrested on Saturday 24 September in The Hague and Leidschendam. The fourth suspect, a 21-year-old Dutchman, was arrested on the street in The Hague on Sunday afternoon, September 25. The Belgian police had followed the suspects from Van Quickenborne’s house in Kortrijk to the Dutch border.

They had left a car at the house. In it, an automatic rifle and bottles of petrol were found. The minister himself reported in a video message that the Belgian authorities had foiled a kidnapping. Belgium has asked the Netherlands to hand over the four suspects.

The hearings will be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 26 (three suspects) and Thursday afternoon, October 27 (one suspect).
