On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, Depeche Mode will reveal a secret that has been well kept until now. Band members Dave Gahan and Martin Gore meet at 1 p.m. for an announcement with members of the press in Berlin. As an event created by the musicians shows, the event will apparently also be broadcast live for all fans. So everyone can follow from home what the artists have to say.
Depeche Mode coming out with a new album?
So far, Gahan and Gore are still covered when it comes to the occasion of the press conference. Of course, there is already plenty of speculation. Many assume that Depeche Mode will announce a new album on October 4th, 2022. This is supported by the fact that Depeche Mode already spoke about a return to the studio in 2021, before Andy Fletcher’s death. At the time, he told British magazine NME: “There’s a lot of stuff we’ve done with Depeche Mode that I’m really proud of. I think that came with time and age. Martin put out a record last year that I really liked. I even bought a copy because otherwise it wouldn’t feel right. I know he’s been messing around in his studio too, so I guess we’ll meet up sometime next year. Hopefully at least to chat about what we both plan for the future.”
It will soon become clear what the talks have revealed – but the public appearance in Berlin will also be difficult for the band, because the death of Andy Fletcher has changed a lot for the band. Nevertheless, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore released a post in mid-August showing the musicians in the studio. “We find stability in what we know and love and focus on what gives meaning and purpose to life,” it said.
The live stream will here broadcast on Facebook – the event starts at 1 p.m. local time.
