Images show how two heavy metal constructions come down. The condition of the injured is unknown. “They were taken to the nearest hospital. Their speedy recovery is our main concern,” Colo-Colo said in a statement on Twitter.

The club regrets the incident, but also points to the responsibility of the supporters themselves. “A group of people disregarded decency by climbing on an ad structure, which caused some of it to succumb.”

About the structure itself, the club commented: “After evaluation by specialists, it has been decided to completely remove the damaged advertising structure to prevent situations like this from happening again.”

Colo-Colo fans encourage the players more often before the last training session before an important match. On Sunday, the club from the Chilean capital Santiago will play the city derby against Universidad Católica.
