The American women’s basketball team set a new point record at the World Championships in Sydney, Australia. The US athletes won against the selection from South Korea with 145:69 – no team had ever scored more points at a World Cup.
The previous record was set by Brazil in 1990 (143:50 against Malaysia). Already qualified for the quarter-finals, USA are aiming for their fourth consecutive World Cup title in Australia. The German national team is not qualified.
