A man was taken from his home in Tilburg by a heavily armed arrest team on Sunday evening. Earlier that evening, the police received signals that he was going to use violence, after which it was decided to arrest the man.
More people were present in the house on Sint Annastraat, presumably family of the man, a police spokesman said. As a precaution, the area was cordoned off by the police and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. No other houses in the area had to be evacuated.
In total, the action lasted about an hour and a half. Around half past nine on Sunday evening, the arrest team managed to arrest the man. No one was injured.
Police could not say what the man threatened with in connection with the investigation. The man is offered psychological help, after which it is determined whether the man will be arrested.
The police are continuing to investigate the matter.
