Kohfeldt on the future: “At what level is not so important to me”

England rumours

1.14 points from 28 games was the record of coach Florian Kohfeldt last season at VfL Wolfsburg. The 39-year-old has been without a job since mid-May. After the TV broadcaster “Sky” last linked the former coach of Werder Bremen with FC Copenhagen, the signs read according to “Wolfsburg General Newspaper“More towards England – Kohfeldt himself has now announced that the league and sporting level play a subordinate role in future decisions for him.

“I want to continue working as a coach. Where or at what level is not that important to me. It doesn’t have to be the Bundesliga,” quotes the “picture“-Zeitung the native of Siegen, who between 2009 and 2021 in Bremen had completed all stations as a trainer, from youngsters to professionals. The return to the Weser Stadium, where he was on the sidelines during Claudio Pizarro’s farewell game on Saturday, was correspondingly emotional. “It was the first time I was back here. I was excited and didn’t know what to expect. I was very happy about the great reception. That cannot be taken for granted,” said Kohfeldt, who managed 142 games for Werder’s first team in four years (1.34 points on average).

With a view to the future, his place of residence in Bremen is not a decisive criterion, Kohfeldt continued. According to information from the “WAZ”, he is drawn to England, but the newspaper does not name a specific goal. He himself is currently using the time to prepare for the next task: “The weekends are full of football. I try to keep up to date. I watch the Bundesliga, but also other leagues.” At FC Copenhagen, who was last associated with the coach, interim coach Jacob Neestrup took over, at least for the time being.
