While numerous candidates are no longer there, six new ones have been added, including Freiburg’s Kiliann Sildillia (20) and Eindhoven’s Xavi Simons (19). Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko (17), PSG newcomer Hugo Ekitiké (20) and Bayer Leverkusen’s 13 million euro purchase Adam Hlozek (20) were all eliminated.

In addition to a vote by fans, 40 journalists from the most important European media vote, including L’Équipe, Marca, The Times, Bild, France Football, De Telegraaf and La Gazzetta dello Sport ‘ and ‘Look’, with a scoring system for the winner. Last year, the Spaniard Pedri (19) from FC Barcelona received the award – he in turn followed Erling Haaland (22) from BVB.
