Hamburger SV has ended its negative series against Holstein Kiel in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the ninth attempt since relegation in 2018, HSV managed their first win against their northern neighbors on Friday with a 3: 2 (1: 0). At the start of the eighth game day, Robert Glatzel (39th) secured his fifth goal of the season, Moritz Heyer (69th) and Ludovit Reis (85th) for HSV the fourth success in the fourth away game. Heyer’s own goal (90+2) and Fin Bartels’ goal a minute later came too late for Holstein. The team of ex-Kiel coach Tim Walter took the lead in the standings until at least Saturday.
However, HSV had a lot of luck in Kiel in the first half and Daniel Heuer Fernandes in goal. For a long time, the people of Kiel dominated in front of 15,034 fans in the sold-out Holstein Stadium. In the first 25 minutes alone, the hosts shot ten times at the HSV goal, Heuer Fernandes was repeatedly challenged and scolded those in front. Patrick Erras (4th), Fabian Reese (8th) and ex-HSVer Fiete Arp (17th) had the best of numerous Holstein chances, but failed at the HSV keeper.
At first there was nothing to be seen of the Hamburg offensive. It wasn’t until the middle of the first half that things started to move forward. Glatzel’s lead goal after a cross from the eye-catching Jean-Luc Dompé came as a surprise. The game was more balanced after the break. Kiel made an effort, but the guests were cleverer and stabilized their defense. Heyer headed into the opponent’s goal and, after Reis’ goal, into his own goal.
Tempelmann scores late: 1. FC Nuremberg defeats Arminia Bielefeld 1-0
At the last minute, Lino Tempelmann let 1. FC Nürnberg celebrate in the duel of the Bundesliga record climbers against Arminia Bielefeld. After a free kick by Mats Möller Daehli, the midfielder headed the “Club” in the 90th minute to the well-deserved 1-0 (0-0).
The Franconians had previously missed the best chances against the harmless Bielefeld team around the luckless striker Kwadwo Duah, the strong goalkeeper Martin Fraisl kept Arminia in the game for a long time. The video referee denied a Duah goal in the 54th minute because the assist provider Felix Lohkemper was offside.
With their third win of the season, the Franconians improved to tenth place in the table. Arminia suffered their first defeat under their new coach Daniel Scherning and is now 15th.
