The second round matches of the DFB Cup have a fixed date: The games between Darmstadt 98 and Borussia Mönchengladbach as well as FC Augsburg and FC Bayern Munich will also be shown on free TV. As the German Football Association announced on Wednesday, the game between the Hessian second division team and Gladbach will take place on October 18 (8:45 p.m. / ARD) and the Bundesliga duel between Augsburg and the record winner from Munich on October 19 (20: 45 p.m./ZDF).
At the same time, the DFB has scheduled all 16 cup games that are broadcast live on the pay-TV channel “Sky” at exactly the right time. The second round will open on October 18 (6:00 p.m.) with a duel between defending champions RB Leipzig and second division club Hamburger SV and the game between fifth division club Stuttgarter Kickers and Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt. Last year’s finalist SC Freiburg welcomes second division side FC St. Pauli on October 19 (6:00 p.m.) – runners-up Borussia Dortmund is playing at Hannover 96 at the same time. The round of 16 and all other rounds on the way to the final in the Berlin Olympic Stadium on June 3rd will not follow until 2023.
