Ten dead and at least fifteen injured in multiple stabbings in Canada | Abroad

The suspects are 31-year-old Damien Sanderson and 30-year-old Myles Sanderson. They would move in a black Nissan Rogue. Police warn that the two are still believed to be “armed and dangerous” and have issued a warning for the province of Saskatchewan and neighboring provinces of Alberta and Manitoba. That reports the Toronto Star.

The attacks happened in several places, including the villages of James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon in the province of Saskatchewan. The first report of a stabbing came to the police at 5:40 a.m. (local time) on Sunday, quickly followed by reports of a number of other stabbing incidents. The fatalities were found in thirteen different locations. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is investigating the crime scenes.

According to the police, it appears that the attackers targeted some victims specifically, while others appear to be random. A number of slightly injured people may have gone to several hospitals themselves for care, so that the total number of victims could rise. The police are asking them to get in touch. It is also feared that the death toll could rise further. Health authorities in Saskatchewan report that several of the injured are “in critical condition”.
