It was another festive day in Zandvoort on the second day of Formula 1. The first fans were on the road early this morning and Max Verstappen took pole position after an exciting qualifying race.
The atmosphere was pleasant in Zandvoort before 8.00 this morning. “Just had a nice walk through the village,” says a race fan about last night. “It was a good atmosphere.” Another fan has had tickets for all three days for 3 years. He is also early on the road. “You have to get the most out of it, before you know it it’s all over.” They’re going to the circuit in a bit, because there is already a lot to do there.
During the day the village fills up more and more. When qualifying is underway, there will be 110,000 visitors in Zandvoort. Of course there are also a lot of people who live close to the circuit and taste the atmosphere from their balcony. “Of course you see all those people, so you’re completely in the atmosphere,” says one of the residents. Yet she looks inside the race, because unfortunately she cannot see the circuit.
