A new case for Gereon Rath and Charlotte Ritter: The fourth season of “Babylon Berlin” can be seen on Sky from October 8th. The broadcast begins with a double episode, after which the station is expected to show another episode every Saturday. On the deathbed of the Weimar Republic
The first three seasons took viewers into the turmoil and excesses of the 1920s: the last episode to date ended with the stock market crash in autumn 1929. In season four, the action begins at the turn of the year 1930/31, when that of the global economic crisis inspired National Socialists were already digging at the grave of the Weimar Republic.
In that mixed situation, Gereon Rath is given the task of shadowing the American gangster Abraham Goldstein. The trailer shows the investigator, played by Volker Bruch, as a brown shirt – whether he really joined the Nazis remains to be seen. This season is also based on a novel by Volker Kutscher, this time it is “Goldstein”.
