After Kevin Trapp (32) was not transferred, Manchester United found reinforcements for the goalkeeper position within the Premier League. According to consistent media reports in England, the “Red Devils” agree on a loan with Martin Dubravka (33) and his club Newcastle United. Dubravka joined Newcastle in January 2018 on loan for a fee of €2m from Sparta Prague, who signed him six months later for €4m. Until this summer, the Slovakian national player was a regular and played 130 games before Nick Pope (30) was brought in from Burnley for 11.5 million euros. Since then, Dubravka has been on the bench and has not played for the new season – he was not part of the squad for the weekend’s clash with Wolverhampton.
He is said to be competing with Man United’s David de Gea (31), who conceded seven goals in his first four games. The contract of the longest-serving United professional expires next year. In addition to de Gea, Tom Heaton (36) is currently the only other goalkeeper in the Red Devils squad.
