The German faction at the Italian first division club Genoa CFC is growing: As expected, midfielder Nadiem Amiri is moving from Bayer 04 Leverkusen to the “Grifoni”, who announced the loan transfer on Saturday afternoon. According to the announcement, a purchase obligation applies from certain sporting points of view – most recently it was said in the event of relegation. This is reportedly around 9 million euros.
With a market value of 11 million euros, Amiri is the most valuable new signing for the Ligurians since striker Andrea Pinamonti (13.5 million) in September 2020. The three-time international is seventh in the overall ranking. With the sum that corresponds to that which the “Werkself” paid to TSG Hoffenheim in 2019 for the right foot, Amiri (Bayer contract until 2024) would also be among Genoa’s ten most expensive commitments.

With 13 points from 23 competitive games, CFC is only three points ahead of the bottom of the table and promoted US Salernitana. After Kelvin Yeboah (21), Leo Östigard (22), Silvan Hefti (24), Johan Vásquez (23), Riccardo Calafiori (19) and Roberto Piccoli (20), Amiri is the seventh newcomer this winter. Ex-HSV chief scout Johannes Spors has recently been general director there and has already brought inAlexander Blessin a German coach.
