The resident of Leermens had a lead of 1 minute and 12 seconds over Gerben Vermij from Leens. 10,000 meters. Zijlstra’s winning time was 35 minutes and 40 seconds.

In the women’s competition it was even less exciting: Annewil Schreuder from Veendam won in a time of 38 minutes and 45 seconds. She was thus seven and a half minutes faster than number 2, Femke Veldman from Delfzijl.

Nick Marsman from Groningen won the Oranjeloop in Nieuwleusen. The Groninger finished in 15.30 minutes, 9 seconds ahead of William van Eeken from Vroomshoop.
Laura Prins from Hoogeveen was the fastest woman (18.06 minutes). Zwolle’s Lieve Tollet finished second at 1.22 minutes.
