Amateur club AFC strengthened itself this summer with Kevin Visser and Melvin Platje. A step that the two former professional footballers had to get used to. Kevin Visser was promoted to the Eredivisie with FC Volendam last season, but after years of employment he was not presented with a new contract. And so the 34-year-old Visser decided to end his professional career. “I would rather not have said goodbye yet.”
Bali United
Visser played his whole life in the Netherlands, that did not apply to Melvin Platje. The attacker traveled all over the world and played football in countries such as Sweden, Azerbaijan and Indonesia. “Hundreds of thousands of people attended the Bali United championship, which is not normal.”
Last Saturday Platje and Visser won 3-0 with AFC van IJsselmeervogels. Two goals came from Platje.
