PSV starts with Xavi Simons in the base. The attacker was still reserve in the game with Rangers FC on Wednesday for a place in the Champions League.
The Brazilian André Ramalho, with an error partly responsible for the goal with which the Scots referred PSV to the Europa League, has been put on the bench by coach Ruud van Nistelrooij. That also applies to the Mexican Érick Gutiérrez. Cody Gakpo, of whom it is still not clear whether he will stay in Eindhoven, is just in the base.
FC Volendam – FC Twente
Number fifteen Volendam receives the excellently performing FC Twente in the Eredivisie. The Tukkers were unfortunately eliminated by Fiorentina in the preliminary rounds of the Conference League in the middle of the week.
FC Utrecht – Ajax
Ajax had little trouble with FC Utrecht. Steven Berghuis made it 0-1 early on, and enabled Brian Brobbey to make it 0-2 shortly before the break. The duel in Utrecht was marred by supporters of the home club by chants and fireworks.
Feyenoord – FC Emmen
Feyenoord is slowly building confidence for a season in which it wants to play a role again in both the competition and the Europa League. Arne Slot’s team won their third victory in four matches against FC Emmen: 4-0.
sc Heerenveen – Fortuna Sittard
The quick dismissal of trainer Sjors Ultee has not yet caused a turnaround at Fortuna Sittard. In the Abe Lenstra stadium against the frivolous playing Heerenveen, a victory was never in sight: 2-1 loss.
NEC Nijmegen – FC Groningen
Thanks to an almost perfect free kick by Laros Duarte, FC Groningen seemed to seize the win during a visit to NEC. A late goal by Nijmegen, however, resulted in a division of points.
Go Ahead Eagles – Sparta
Go Ahead Eagles also lost its fourth game of this Eredivisie season. In Deventer, Sparta Rotterdam was 1-0 too strong, with which the team of trainer Maurice Steijn booked its first victory.
Vitesse – RKC Waalwijk
After four rounds of play, Vitesse is rid of the hateful zero. Against RKC Waalwijk it seemed to go completely wrong again, but after a 0-2 deficit, the team of trainer Thomas Letsch got up and fought back to a 2-2 draw.
