Three soldiers from the Commando Troops Corps (KCT) have been injured in a shooting outside a hotel in the city of Indianapolis in the United States. One of them is in critical condition, the Ministry of Defense writes. The other two soldiers were also hit, but are approachable. The KCT barracks are located in Roosendaal.
The shooting happened during the free time of the soldiers on the night from Friday to Saturday. The commandos are on exercise in the state of Indiana. More Dutch commandos stayed in the hotel, says a spokesperson for the ministry. He would not say from which place or province the commandos come.
No arrests
There is a practice village near Indianapolis. Dutch commandos go there more often to train. They then stay in this hotel. The local police are investigating the matter. No arrests have been made. Local media report that the three soldiers may have been involved in a fight earlier in the evening.
The shooting allegedly happened at the Hampton Inn hotel. According to a television channel, that would have been around half past three in the morning. According to the police, there would be multiple witnesses and the police have a possible suspect in their sights.
