Brilliant second half: Düsseldorf improves and beats Regensburg

For a long time, Jahn Regensburg had more of the game in Düsseldorf. But on the Fortuna clearly won thanks to an increase in performance in the last half hour.

Fortuna Düsseldorf remains in the top third of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Rhinelanders won their home game on Friday evening (08/26/2022) against Jahn Regensburg 4-0. The guests had more of the game for a long time. But then a brilliant half hour of Fortuna made the decision in the second half.

After three winless games in a row, Fortuna Düsseldorf has improved to third place in the table for at least one day.

Ginczek’s hit unties the knot

Daniel Ginczek hit the near post with a low shot in the 59th minute, untying the knot. Six minutes later, Dawid Kownacki converted a penalty kick. Leon Guwara had previously brought down Felix Klaus from Düsseldorf in the penalty area (65′).

Klaus made it 3-0 in the 78th minute with his goal from ten meters out. Seven minutes later, the now finally unleashed Fortune cheered for the fourth time after Shinta Appelkamp had scored with a dust collector.

Regensburg conceded the next bankruptcy after the bitter 0:6 against Karlsruher SC and has now been waiting for a win for four games.

Dusseldorf demanded in Heidenheim

Fortuna Düsseldorf has to go away to 1. FC Heidenheim on the 7th matchday (September 2nd, 2022, 6.30 p.m.). Der Jahn welcomes Holstein Kiel at 1 p.m. a day later.
